DSF 2010 brings the celebrations back onto the streets during the 15th edition with festivities across four prominent locations in Dubai – Al Rigga, Al Seef, Al Diyfah and The Walk JBR. Each street or venue is being themed to reflect numerous aspects of DSF. While the Al Rigga Street will comprise of fun fairs and rides, Al Diyafah will be decorated with stunning lights, Al Seef will take the art and culture theme, while The Walk JBR will host numerous events including a week of performances by renowned jazz artists.

Al Seef Street - Daily Events

Al Seef Street, located in Bur Dubai is one of the most popular locations during Dubai Shopping Festival. This year Al Seef Street will come alive with various fun-filled events sponsored by Burjuman. Entertainment activities for one and all include:

Carnivals and Funfair at Al Riqqa Street

Al Riqqa Street, sponsored by Al Ghurair City, will turn into a mini funfair, giving every visitor regardless of their age a feel of being a part of the festivities. Apart from the brightly lit décor, the street will be filled with artists who will not only perform but also encourage families to participate in the same.

The main stage will hold dance performances by various performers, while the four smaller stages will include acts by street musicians and story tellers. Talented artist such as painters, caricatures, craftsmen, etc will have a specially designated area to entertain the audience with their talent.  Bringing culture and fun on the streets, Al Riqqa road will be full of the following acts by various roaming performers:

Heritage and Diving Village

Located near the mouth of Dubai Creek, the Heritage and Diving Village features potters and weavers who practise traditional craft. The Village welcomes tourists from around the world for an insight into Emarati culture with displays that include an ancient armoury and Bedouin camps. Dubai’s maritime history is also found here, much of it focusing on the pearl industry that thrived for centuries until the discovery of oil.

Dubai Carnivals

As the vibrant and colourful face of DSF, Dubai Carnivals is an all-out display by various performers to showcase the festive feeling across Dubai. Dubai Carnivals will hit the streets during every DSF weekend with around 120 performers livening up the streets and shopping malls of Dubai.

Traditional Parade with Camels

A tribute to Emirati culture, The Walk at JBR promises a memorable evening at the Traditional Parade, complete with camels.

Traditional Dress Competition
